Meet the Team
At Old Town Mission, we are committed to helping those struggling to make ends meet in our community. Our our daily operations are made possible thanks to a dedicated team of individuals.
This includes a volunteer Board of Directors, a skilled Management Team, a committed group of Staff Members, and our talented and compassionate Volunteers, all working together to help our Neighbors in Need.
"Bringing Joy and Assisting my neighbors in need is a genuine privilege that I am grateful for every day. The best reward is witnessing the delight on someone's face when their needs are met. Nothing compares to the moment when a child is so grateful that they cannot express it with words, and instead, they express it through a warm and spontaneous bear hug."
"The Mission changes people’s lives.
The people who serve are forever changed by the impact and personal fulfillment received from helping others. Mahatma Gandhi once said, 'The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.' For me, giving back to my community and being a part of God’s bigger plan fills a place in my heart that was once empty."
"'Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.' (1 Peter 4:10) I am grateful to the Old Town Mission for allowing me to do what God wants all of His children to do. I have received an additional blessing by getting to know and love the people associated with the Mission. My second family."
"I have been volunteering at the Old Town Mission for many years. Matthew West's song 'Do Something' pretty much sums it up for me. I always want to be the person who stands up and says, 'I'm gonna do something.'"
John (Ken) Ligon
"Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has instructed us to serve one another and those in need. The Old Town Mission and thrift store is a Christian outreach that seeks to assist those in need of support. As such, it is a privilege to volunteer on the OTM Board in our mission to serve the local community."
"I volunteer at the Old Town Mission because I like helping others, especially when it involves feeding people. Sometimes people need just a little help to flourish!"
"As a law enforcement officer, I have seen firsthand how meeting individuals' needs can positively impact their situation and strengthen the community. Volunteering at the mission provides an opportunity to give back and make a difference."
Finance & Human Resources
"I'm excited to be part of a mission that feeds the hungry. I play a key role in the operation, tracking expenses like a hawk and making sure every penny counts. Nothing beats the satisfaction of knowing I'm making a difference in the world, one meal at a time."
Thrift Store Manager
"Extending your hand in a time of need can change the course of someone's life. I'm happy to be a part of the Old Town Mission and grateful for the opportunity to help my community."
"As a grant writer, I have the honor of translating compassion into action, turning empathy into resources that can empower individuals and families. Old Town Mission is a place where I get to see the resilience and triumphs of neighbors in need."
"There is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life beautiful for others. I'm thankful for learning what's behind the scenes at the Old Town Mission."

"It is a blessing to be able to help others, and my job lets me do that every day. Working at the Old Town Mission has been a life-changing experience. It's like a second home to me now, and the people here are like my family."
